About the Author

Dr. Guruprasad Samanta received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Calcutta University in 1985 and 1991, respectively. He is now a Professor (HAG) in the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur, Howrah, India. His areas of research are Mathematical Biology and Operations Research. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, India. He received his D.Sc. in 2022.
